Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) provides manufacturers quality systems to control automated operations. With this technology, you increase the efficiency and quality of your production.
To get the right solution, you should know that there is a difference between different RFID technologies such as low frequencies (BF – 125 kHz), high frequencies (HF – 13.56 MHz) or ultra-high frequencies (UHF MHz). As each industrial application is unique, it is important to collect multiple data in order to achieve the right level of control (speed, range, environment, etc.).
The main purpose of RFID in industries is to allow the user to read and transmit authentication characteristics on a data carrier (tag). Data carriers (tags) accompany the piece throughout the production line. At each required step, the necessary data is then written on the label and then accessed at the output of the production. In the end, we can see each step completed by the product through a quality management protocol.
Since electromagnetic radio waves are resistant to various environmental elements, RFID is a better solution when conditions are harsh. Printed barcodes are more difficult to use when conditions are poor (humidity, dirt, high temperatures).
